I haven't accepted any new project proposals in the last year and I have been gradually reducing my maintenance work in the existing projects. Today I finished my last project. I have made the shutdown as smooth as possible for my current clients. I'm not going to write about the reasons why I quit, it would turn into a long list of rant and bashing about many things, including my own stupid decisions.
I might return into freelancing one day. I do not dislike the job and I think that consulting is the optimal way to implement some projects and there is lots of value in that.
I have also quit the board position at our apartment association. I joined it 3 years ago because of the total reconstruction project and after successful completion I lost all motivation to work on the board duties.
I'm soon relocating to Germany and enter a full-time development job.
